My Thoughts
This is not a book review site - it started that way, I conceptualise this blog that way but I found that I can't separate my feelings from my writings. I can't be objective about a book.
Reading has been my main hobby cultivated for almost 4 decades. I read for pleasure and experience. This blog is where I pour my thoughts and feelings in that experience.

Wish You Were Here by Renee CarlinoMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book starts off a bit slow for me. The first few chapters is about the main female character. While reading, I thought, when is it going to get exciting? The exciting part happens from the middle towards the end. And boy, did it ever awaken in me a lot of feelings.
I’ve read one other book by Renee Carlino and I must say, she’s one of the authors that can invoke deeper feelings and thoughts into you. There are poignant part that just lingers with to you and may influence in the selection of your next read.
****Spoiler Alert****
Now, on to what I really felt about this book. Frankly, I am torn. I am a bit elated that the heroine got her happy ending, albeit with a big hiccup along the way. On one hand, I wish I didn’t read this book. I finished reading this book in the middle of the night and I couldn’t go to sleep. I was so sad, as if I was grieving for a death of a loved one. I have to seek comfort from my husband – I seemed to be drowning when I tried to go to sleep.
I feel for Adam the most. Despite the kind of life he was given, he made the most of it. I can’t stop thinking of the what-ifs if he hadn’t kicked-out Charlotte and they spent those months together instead of being apart. I cried buckets from his letters.
I commend the other guy for being so brave in loving somebody like Charlotte, after she ditched him for Adam.
I commend Charlotte for following her heart and to have such compassion and love.
This book literally put me off other books with death in it, regardless of who it was.
I am still not quite sure if I would recommend reading this to somebody – it has a lot of lesson, a lot of emotion and love that you don’t want to miss out on but at the same time, it’s so heavy on emotions that it might affect somebody so much, like it did me.
I wanted to write more in this review but I feel that if I dig more and remember what happened, I’ll feel like when I just finished reading this book. So gutted and miserable. I’m trying to get over it.

Kiss the Frog by Alice GainesMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book was categorised under New Adult. I am not really sure what exactly New Adult means but I reckon, it's not this book. It has a lot of steamy scenes that it is borderline to erotic.
Okay, onto the book. This a feel good read. It's not too long. Dev is just an admirable character. Well, all of the Royal family are. It's unreal not that I am familiar with the lives of the royalty. I suppose, they are just like normal people.
The character of the parents of Felice made me like her even more. She is very understanding and forgiving. And I suppose, resigned that she will not be the number one priority. But it is fine as she found a new family in Dev's.
I like Fredriech. I'd like to read his story with Marta soon.

I would love to have some of Sam's playboy billionaire side told - I meant, you can't really say that he is a playboy because there was only one other girl in the story.
Quickie again. Not too much emotions involved. I'd have more of the father and son sort of reconciliation.
Maybe, there is more to Sam and April's story in the other books in the series but I might not be able to find out. Not prepared to pay for the others.
I read more than 5 books a week and I really can't say that this book stands out.

You would think that the book is raunchy based on the cover and title. But no, it isn't really. Matty is really a sweet guy and they didn't have "do" it until they were engaged.
So anyway, it's a sweet read. The story mostly focused on the main characters. I am not really a fan of books written in first person. It is very one sided, of course, that doesn't give you insight as to what the other person is feeling.
This is a light read and a quick one. You'd enjoy it while on the train or aeroplane. Nothing too involved here.

I am somewhat in two places on this book. I like the heroine as she's strong, feisty, independence (at least after she left Dave). But at the same time, her being so independent and not sharing a lof of things that should be to Dave, irks me. I reckon, if you have the guts to be independent, you should also be able to be able express what you feel. I don't like secrets so maybe this explains how I feel about her. She came around at the end, so all is good.
The hero was supposedly a lawyer and a rancher/farmer at the same time. I didn't read a lot of him being a farmer - and he was thrown off the horse, what's the deal with that? But I like that he knows what he wants and he went after it. Has integrity and moral. What can you ask for. Plus, he loves Matty always.
I like that there are not many flashbacks about the past - what happened in the 6 years that they were apart. No discussion of previous partners.
I presume that their story will be included in other books in the series as I feel there should be more. But I got the book from ibooks for free and I am not sure at this stage if I am going to buy the other books.
